A Smarter, Sunnier, More Sustainable Home

Building Smarter, Living Better

This renovation was all about working smarter—not bigger. With sustainability already front of mind thanks to an existing Solar PV system, our clients wanted to take their home’s environmental performance further. We upgraded 22 doors and windows with high-performance double glazing and retrofitted insulation wherever possible, dramatically improving thermal comfort and energy efficiency.

A modest extension was added, but the real gains came from rethinking the existing footprint. By reconfiguring internal spaces, we were able to create a new ensuite for the master bedroom—something the home had never had—alongside a powder room and kids’ bedroom, all without excessive new build. The old, unused carport was not only transformed into a welcoming, sunlit entry zone, but also allowed an acoustically separated home office to support our client’s remote working needs.

Outdoor Spaces With Purpose and Flow

Outside, the transformation was just as impactful. A deteriorating balcony was replaced with a long, north-facing alfresco deck that runs the length of the home. Divided by central stairs to the backyard, the deck now offers two distinct zones: an outdoor dining area off the living room and a private seating space adjoining the master bedroom. This new layout dramatically improved the flow between indoor and outdoor living, making the backyard and pool far more inviting and accessible.
